Chapter 10: Fly Patterns
of
Alaska

Fly Patterns of Lake Marie Lodge

This fly pattern page contains popular fly patterns for Alaska. Some of these patterns are exclusive to Lake Marie Lodge, but not for long since we are listing them on our web site. Other Patterns are common flies used in our area of Alaska with great success.

Since many of these flies are used to catch more than just one specie of fish, we have not separated the flies into different categories. Instead we have included beneath each picture, the main species that the flies are used for. Note that many of these flies can catch more than one specie. Please use the following index for referencing each fly pattern to each fish specie.

    • R-Rainbow Trout
    • K-King Salmon (Chinook)
    • C-Silver Salmon (Coho)
    • S-Red Salmon (Sockeye)
    • G-Arctic Grayling
    • D-Dolly Varden/Arctic Char

We at Lake Marie Lodge encourage the use of barbless (or crimped barbed) hooks when fishing for trout or catch and release on salmon.
