General Information about the
Lodge, Fishing, and Other Activities

The Lodge. The three-story lodge is located on top of a bluff overlooking the river valleys and into Denali National Park and Preserve.
The views of Mt. McKinley, (Denali) are incredible. Each Guest room has a large picture window (5ft x 6ft) to take advantage of these views.

The Lodge's bedrooms are spacious and all have 2 queen-sized beds. They also all have private bathrooms with showers.

We also have daily maid service and laundry facilites on site.

The Lodge's main lounge area is spacious and has great views of the mountains.

More information about our Fishing

We spin fish and fly fish for Rainbow Trout, King Salmon (Chinook), Silver Salmon (Coho), Sockeye Salmon (Reds), Chum Salmon, and Pink Salmon. We also catch Arctic Grayling, Dolly Varden/Arctic Char, and Northern Pike.

We concentrate our efforts
on three main species:

Rainbow Trout

We have miles and miles of wadeable streams where you will catch Rainbow Trout in virtually every pool. We fish two streams in particular that are world class fly fishing rainbow streams, and you will be the only anglers there. These streams are fantastic and are virtually unknown to the world due to our remoteness and our area's settlement history. There were never any Alaska Native settlements in our area and also very limited exploration and development by outsiders, and therefore it has stayed one of Alaska's least populated regions. This remoteness is apparent in the Rainbow Trout as most have never seen a Fly or Lure, much less have been caught by one. They are not leader shy in the least so you do not have to be an experienced fly fishermen to catch them. If you wish, we can take you to fish an area that no one has ever fished before, as we are always looking to explore new areas. For more information on Rainbow Trout, visit our Rainbow Trout web page, and our Fly Fishing web page.

King Salmon (Chinook)

Our King Salmon fishing is very unique due to our unusual location and remoteness. We fish for the Kings in small streams and pools rather than in large rivers. You will fish in pools where there are hundreds of King Salmon that you can see. You can catch a variety of sizes averaging 30 lbs., with large ones in the 60's. We have King Salmon returning to our creeks that are chrome bright and as the season progresses the coloration slowly changes to red. Because of our location and remoteness, we have also developed techniques for catching large King Salmon on very light gear (4-6 lb Tippet and line), and have broken many world records. For more information on King Salmon, visit our King Salmon web page, and also our Fly Fishing web page.

Silver Salmon (Coho)

Few fish can match the acrobatics of the Silver Salmon. The thrill of hooking and fighting many Silver Salmon in a single day is not to be missed. You will have the opportunity to fish a different stream or creek every day of your stay, which allows you to a have a varied fishing experience, instead of having to fish the same stream every day. Silver Salmon are very aggressive and bite very well, and once on the line, they are extremely fun and exciting to play. Have you ever had a chrome bright silver salmon rise up and take your floating fly right off of the surface of the water? It's very hard to describe the excitement of having salmon hitting on the surface, very similar to 5-8 pound rainbows rising up and taking your dry. We are very experienced in surface fishing for all species of salmon. There really isn't another fishing experience like the Silver Salmon experience. For more information on Silver Salmon, visit our Silver Salmon web page, and also our Fly Fishing web page.

Other Activities around the Lodge

While our main focus is Salmon and Rainbow Trout fishing, we have spent considerable time and effort developing several other related activities. These activities will add to your fishing experience. These activities can be enjoyed in the evening after fishing, or during the day, as a break from fishing. After several long days of catching fish, you might want to spend an afternoon, or evening, canoeing the quiet and secluded beaver streams near the Lodge. We have several other activities and facilities at the Lodge including a Fly tying area, Fly casting instructions, Hiking Trails, Berry Picking, Gold Panning, Bear and Wildlife Viewing Areas, Waterfowl Viewing Blind, Overnight Tent Camping, Canoeing, Kayaking, and Rafting. These activities offer a restful break from fishing.
