Chapter 16:Views From
the Front Deck

Views from the Deck,

This page is an assortment of photographs taken from Lake Marie Lodge, looking off the bluff. And one bear skull.

Mt. Foraker (left), and Mt. McKinley (right), at 2:00 AM.

 McKinley and Foraker with alpenglow.

Clouds and Rain, and Mt. McKinley

 Northern Lights

 Mt. Russell, with Telephoto.

Winter at Lake Marie Lodge. Yenlo Hills are in the Background.

Mt. McKinley, it is extremely hard to get a good picture of the mountain.

Winter sunset (3:00 p.m.) on the shortest day of the year. December 21.

Mt. Foraker towering above the 8-9,000 ft Alaska Range.

Twin Peaks, Mt. Foraker on the left and Mt. McKinley on the right. Foraker is 3,000 ft shorter, but several miles closer to the Lodge, so it appears the same height.

Full Moon over the Yenlo Hills.

Sunshine on Yenlo Hills. In the spring we can see many bear tracks on the mountain leading from their dens, to the trees.

 Winter Fog, looks cold.

Giant Brown Bear skull found near the Lodge, held by Stephen "Pokemon" Wilson.

Notice the worn down teeth. This bear was extremely old.
